Questions Answered
General FAQs
I understand that investing in yourself or your business is a significant step that you want to get right. So here are a few answers to some common queries to help you feel ready to make the step together.
What can I expect from coaching sessions with you?
Each coaching session is a confidential, supportive space tailored to your goals. I listen actively, challenge gently, and use proven coaching techniques to help you gain clarity, confidence, and actionable strategies for progress.
How do I know which coaching package is right for me or my team?
I offer an initial discovery conversation to understand your needs, challenges, and goals. From there, I’ll recommend the most suitable package or create a bespoke solution tailored specifically to you or your organisation.
Do you offer virtual coaching sessions or are they all face-to-face?
Yes, I offer both. Sessions can be delivered face-to-face, virtually via video call, or a blend of both, whichever format best suits your schedule, preferences, and location.
I lack confidence at work. Is this something your coaching can help with?
Finding the right way to improve your confidence at work or in other areas of your life is definitely something coaching can support with. We can work through each of your challenges, devise and agree on some tailored strategies and accountability to help you navigate through your feelings of self-doubt to grow your confidence levels.
Public speaking is something I dread – can you coach me on this?
Presenting or public speaking either for work or addressing strangers is one of the most commonly held fears but it is something coaching can absolutely support you with. There’s lots of tips and techniques we can explore so you find the right ones for you as everyone is different and could include plans for some practise, visualisation work and even use of role playing.
The team that I manage are not performing and our company results are suffering, what can I do about this?
There are different approaches we can take for this. Executive coaching could be really useful for you as a leader/manager so you can explore, in a confidential and non-judgemental conversation, what you think is going wrong and why this happens, then consider and plan the approach you can take instead to improve this. Or, once we’ve discussed in more detail what you want to change, I can deliver training workshops for your team to upskill them to see the difference and improved results you want from them. This is exactly what the purpose of the complimentary introductory session is for.
I know my communication skills need improvment so can you coach this?
Absolutely, improving how you communicate effectively with others is a great investment to make in yourself as will bring you benefits at work but also in relationships across all your life too. We can explore different aspects of communication, as well as your preferences but also the communication styles that could work best for others so you can improve how effective you are in influencing or leading others. If communication issues for the whole team or company, I can design bespoke training sessions for this to build greater understanding across the all the team to create a more connected, more productive team.
The team I’m taking over managing is toxic with lots of historical disagreements and problems between individual team members, is there anything coaching can do to help with this?
Yes, dealing with a team with issues or a toxic culture that you’ve inherited or have been brought in to change is difficult. Having a safe space for confidential conversations with me, as your objective coach, about the situation is highly useful for considering what’s within your influence to change, or to gain clarity on the situation and then plan how you’ll change this culture is empowering. It will lessen the stress you’re likely to feel about managing this work situation too. Alternatively, we can discuss creating workshops for the team themselves, and I’ll facilitate sessions so the team consider their own work culture and we work towards improving their environment together. This is great for increasing team effectiveness and results delivery. Happy to discuss this on a complimentary introductory session.
My ambition is to achieve promotion at work so can a coach work with me on this?
Realising your ambitions is important as you look to fulfil your potential so I can work to identify where your blockers are to achieving this then we plan how you fill this gap or overcome the obstacles and blockers. We can consider the practicalities of securing this new role as well as the mindset and mental approach you’ll need to release it, building your confidence on readiness for this transition.
A better work/life balance is what I want. Can you teach this?
As a coach, I wouldn’t teach and as what balance actual is means different things to different people so we’d start by identifying what your ideal outcome looks like, then identify the changes you therefore need to make to create your reality. This could include working on your prioritisation skills or even defining what your core purpose is.
Is coaching like therapy?
This comes up quite often actually as often the experience of being coached by me can feel therapeutic because I focus all my attention on empathetically listening to you, which can be quite an unusual experience in today’s busy, fast forward world when conversation aren’t based on understanding the other but we just look to respond and reply quickly. There’s an important difference from therapy as coaching is about making progress towards the outcome you want and so is forward focused. Therapy is more about looking backwards in the past at something that’s already happened so it’s a different discipline. Discussing if it’s therapy or coaching you need is something we can discuss in the complimentary introductory session before we proceed with coaching. That said, it’s okay that my coaching is often described by clients as feeling therapeutic but it’s not therapy, it’s outcome focused coaching.
In my company we have employees who have been promoted to be managers because they were good at the job but they don’t have any people management knowledge, can you train them?
Coaching works very well for a big topic like this as talking through your ambitions with a confidential coach, who’s also an objective outsider brings you new insight or helps identify your blind spots or assumptions so we can plan how you turn your aspirations to actions, maybe adding some needed accountability or putting an end to procrastination too.

Yes, in the Menopause Plan we consider the changes to your hormone levels that are responsible for the physical changes you are experiencing and what you can do to make small, practical changes to alter some of these.
